22 WALK Capel-y-ffin landscape with Owen Sheers

The theme of the walk is the art of David Jones – poet and painter. He spent time in the 1920’s at Capel-y-ffin. This landscape inspired Jones’s dramatic landscape paintings. We climb Twmpa from Penyrhoel Chapel and head along the ridge to Capel-y-ffin. Descending into the valley, we see the striking landscape with 1000ft mountain walls, which enclose the hamlet. We visit historic sites in the hamlet before returning along the Nant Bwch valley.
