13 THE MILL RACE Talgarth Ten Mile Fun Run

The route winds for ten miles around the catchment of the Mill's River Ellywe and takes in breathtaking views of the Wye Valley and the Black Mountains. More than half of the route is off road - crossing the spectacular common at Rhos Fawr (the route's highest point is 240m above the Mill) and the beautiful forest track through Park Wood.
Joggers, fun runners, and more serious runners are all welcome.

14 WALK In the Footsteps of Henry Vaughan with Owen Sheers and Havard Prosser

A walk from Tretower Castle – the home of the Vaughan family - to Llansantffraed in the Usk Valley where Henry Vaughan is buried. Vaughan was a 17th Century poet chiefly known for religious poetry. He was influenced by the natural environment of the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. Tretower was the home of the Vaughan family from 1450 to 1783. The walk will follow a route across Mynydd Llangorse and Allt yr Esgair. Owen will read excerpts from Henry Vaughan’s poetry.

15 WALK Under the Stars with Gez and Sue Richards

An overnight expedition to the top of the Black Mountains. Given clear skies, we hope to experience a ‘starry’ night – alternatively we’ll enjoy the clouds, close up and dark!
