TWF2024-15 Sunday Walk - Geology of the Ennig Catchment

£14.00
TWF Walks and Events will be on-sale in early 2025

A 3 Boot Walk.

The Ennig is Talgarth’s river. This walk explores the larger part of its watershed, casting a geological eye over both the ground underfoot and the wider landscape. After ascending the rock-steps of the Dragon’s Back, we take the stone-strewn high moor on the level north to the magnificent rocky defile of Cwm Cwnstabl beside which we’ll descend. Rhos Fawr common and Park Wood which follow are quite a contrast but they too contain clues to the evolution of this landscape over deep time; deserts and glaciers are two of the major players in this long, slow drama.

A minibus will be provided to transport the group from Talgarth Main Car Park to the starting point in Pengenffordd. The price of the walk includes the minibus.
