Environmental Statement
Talgarth Walkers are Welcome Group is committed to the preservation of our local and global environment.
We are small, volunteer-run organisation with a relatively short financial reach, but we are nevertheless keen to ensure that we reduce negative impacts wherever possible.
Each year, we aim to make a donation from any profits accrued to local environmental organisations. We will publish any such donations on this website and through our social media channels.
We encourage participants in our events to lift-share and use public transport wherever possible, whilst acknowledging that this does present some difficulties in our rural and often sparsely-connected area.
All walks leaders and back-markers will ensure that the Countryside Code is adhered to, and that all litter - ours or left on the trail by others - is removed and properly disposed of. Any signage will always be removed after the event.
We try wherever possible to use digital communications, and to reduce office consumables and paper wherever we can. We produce a limited run of printed brochures each year, and this is under review annually.
We are strong believers in using local suppliers wherever we can.
If you feel we can do more, then we would welcome your thoughts via our contact page.
