TWF2024-06 Llangors Lake and Mountain Scenic
A 3 Boot Walk.
A walk from Llyn Syfaddan (Llangors Lake) through the village and across to the Multi Activity Centre where a close encounter with peacocks may be possible. We climb steeply from there up to the summit of Mynydd Llangors for spectacular views over the lake towards Pen-y-Fan.
The walk stays high while looking for mountain ponies & orchids and listening for cuckoos & skylarks. From the peak of Pen-yr-Heol-Las there are lovely views down the Usk Valley and over to Pen-Allt-Mawr.
Then we descend via a gentle bridle path for a quick tour of the village, before returning to the lakeshore and its rich variety of birds.
Binoculars strongly recommended, as is the Red Lion pub after the walk.
Sponsored by Elmsleigh B&B, Cusop, Hay-on-Wye
Maximum walking group size is 15 (+ leaders)
